Well, really I’m talking to Ian. I’ve fixed up some of the more glaring Safari bugs. Let me know what still doesn’t work for you.

Ok, Tim… here’s my rundown… testing the website on Safari, I’m still having transparency/readability issues with text, especially sections that are grey on grey, like the mission statement. When trying to edit pages, in Safari I still get a Java script pop-up about incompatibility with less than Mozilla 1.3 beta and then am unable to edit pages. I get the same error message when doing blog entries or comments, but those seem to post and save. With neither edit screen do I get any formatting controls.

On the other hand, testing in Firefox… the readability is better… text is larger, don’t get any Java error, and am able to post and save comments and blog entries and do have formatting controls available when editing. When editing a page, I can make edits, click update and it will apparently update, but I’m stuck in edit mode when viewing any page until I hit cancel. Is that how you want it?

Finally testing in MSIE… don’t have the readability and transparency issues that Safari has, but have all the same editing problems, without getting any Java error message. Just can’t seem to edit pages and don’t have formatting controls. It does work pretty well in Firefox, but if you’re looking for cross-brower compatibility there are still things that aren’t working yet… and I’m pretty sure I’m working with the most updated versions of each of those browsers.

Well I was testing on Konqueror. I guess I’ll have to boot up the iMac and see what I can do…

Oh, now that’s interesting… when refreshing in Safari it causes a resend and repost of my last comment post.

I think you can do that in most browsers. That’s just the way the site is programmed.

Knocked out those transparency problems. Thanks to Jeff for the Mac. Now our site is actually attractive in Safari (if I do say so myself). this also fixes the editing bug you were having Ian. Unfortunately adding a WYSIWYG editor is not really possible in Safari right now. I’ll look into perhaps adding a java one.
